Facts ABout Drake’s New Mixtape Dark Lane Demo Tapes

The rumors started early 30th April: Drake was releasing a new project. Finally, early Thursday evening, we had our answer: Drake released “some leaks and some joints from SoundCloud and some new vibes” in a collection called Dark Lane Demo Tapes.

Here are Facts about songs on drakes new mixtape Dark Lane Demo Tapes:

The track “Desires” came about via producer Nayvadius. “I connected with Drake through Future,” Hill says. “I was sending him beats. [‘Desires’ is] just one of the ones they happened to pick.”

The track “Losses” dates back over a year, other Dark Lane Demo Tapes songs are much newer. Producer JB Made It is behind the Fivio Foreign and Sosa Geek collaboration “Demons,” which came together a full year later, in January of 2020.

“Not You Too” by Drake (ft. Chris Brown), Drake co-wrote the track with producer Noel Cadastre. Chris Brown isn’t a credited writer on this track because he essentially didn’t partake in its writing. His official role in the song is actually that of a backing vocalist.

“D4L” ft Future & Young Thug is actually a shoutout to another rap crew known as D4L, whose prime was back some 15 years ago. However, it is not clear exactly why Drake & co. decided to name the track after them.
