The Afronation festival is only a few days away and prominent Nigerian acts are set to light up Portugal. The famous festival which will be making its debut in Praia da Rocha, the main beach in the town of Portimao, is already coined the biggest music festival in Europe.
The festival has been greeted with quite a massive hype since it was first announced early this year. And rightly so, with the kind big names headlining the 4-day event, it becomes more clear why. All three of the Nigerian headlining acts are the biggest exporters of Afrobeats music in Africa.
More so, since it is an Afrobeats themed festival, and there is a staggering global demand for the fast-rising genre, it becomes no surprise to also see that tickets were sold out almost immediately they were made available. And that Nigerian artists are the ones who dominate the line up.
Burna Boy, Wizkid and Davido are the headliners at this year’s festival. Also, there are others too: Falz, Teni, Yemi Alade, and Adekunle Gold to name a few. But that is not all. International artists will also be featuring. So the entire festival should be a stupendous spectacle to behold.
Dj Spinall, the award-winning disc jockey recently made history at the Glastonbury festival. And he will be playing 2 sets at the Afro nation in Portugal. One during a yacht party on the 3rd day and the other at the grand closing on the last day.
The festival which will be filled with all sorts of music including live band performances will be starting on Thursday and get a grande closing on Sunday.
