Yemi Alade has been in the Music Industry for Over 10 Years now. From her first major Hit “Ghen Ghen” back in 2012, Yemi has proven to be relentless and not stopping anytime soon with her deliveries. She has demonstrated prowess in the industry and has risen above and raised the ladder.
During Yemi Alade’s breakout in 2012, there were a lot of women in the industry who were already made. The Industry had the likes of Waje, Omawunmi, Tiwa Savage, Chidinma and the likes. Therefore, there was competition for her and it was quite difficult for her to overshadow these talents. But because of the fact that Yemi Alade is a Woman of Steel, she was able to conquer all challenges and obstacles.
In 2013, Yemi Alade released another hit track titled Johnny. This track changed her career for the better. Johnny moved her music across boarders. It broke the international scene so much that she had to release the French Version of “Johnny” for her fans in Paris. Also, Johnny has over 100 million views on YouTube. This made her hold the record for the most views on a music Video by an African Female artiste.
Yemi Alade is the only female African artiste with over a million subscribers on YouTube.
Fast-forward to 2015, Yemi Alade have started selling out stadiums, arenas and theaters across the globe. She has the most foreign fans than any other female artiste in Nigeria at the moment.
Moving to 2019, Yemi Alade has achieved a lot this year already. She has 4 albums down the lane alongside some E.P’s. Earlier this year, Yemi Alade was among the few African artistes selected to feature on the “Lion King; The Gift album” by Beyonce. Yemi Alade featured on 2 tracks on the album titled “Don’t Jealous Me” and “My Power”.
Furthermore, two weeks ago, Yemi Alade released her 4th studio album titled “Woman of Steel”. The album thus far is doing very well on various charts and countdowns. Also, she released the video for “Home” of the album this week. See the video below.
